Lily of the Valley
Watercolor
Original: 8" x 10"
The lily of the valley is the "birth month flower" of May.
It is the national flower of Finland and is known for its strong sweet scent. This spring-flowering, woodland plant is extremely poisonous.
The lily of the valley is said to symbolize motherhood, purity, sweetness, beauty, humility and the return of happiness. Because some believe this plant to have healing powers, it is also called "Jacob's tears" or "ladder to heaven." It is also said to represent the second coming of Christ.
Available as a giclee print (multiple sizes) or a blank 5x7 notecard.
